Profile

Mr Ugochukwu Ihedioha studied medicine at the University of Calabar, Nigeria (1993-1999). His basic surgical training was undertaken in Glasgow (2002-2004). He carried out research in Glasgow and Leicester on the factors influencing the implementation of an enhanced recovery programme in colorectal surgery for which he was awarded a doctorate in medicine. His higher specialist training was undertaken in the East Midlands in 2009 and was completed in August 2014.

Mr Ihedioha had specialist training in pelvic floor surgery during his fellowship at Guys’ and St Thomas hospital in London between October 2014 and March 2015. Mr Ihedioha was appointed Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital and has a role in supporting the laparoscopic colorectal cancer service and enhanced recovery after surgery for patients in Northamptonshire.
