Mr McArthur is a Consultant Colorectal, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon performing colorectal surgery and colorectal operations on the NHS and privately, at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, Spire Parkway Hospital, Solihull and The Harborne Hospital.
Mr McArthur qualified in 1998 at Birmingham University with Honours in Surgery. Between junior and senior house-jobs in the Midlands, he lectured in anatomy at Birmingham University, followed by registrar training in the West Midlands, and an Association of Coloproctology Fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at Leeds. In July 2011, he took up a post as Consultant Surgeon in Birmingham. Mr McArthur specialises in Hernia Surgery and Haemorrhoid treatment.

I felt very comfortable with Mr McArthur. He put me at ease and explained fully what the procedure entailed so going into hospital on the day of the procedure was less traumatic than I expected, although I was very nervous.
